SURREY,

4th April, 1930.

Dear Mayhew,

I wrote, as I said I would, to Guillemard, asking

wealthy Chinese in Malaya for the Hong Kong University, and

appeal. I enclose his reply, which does not hold out any

hope.

I have the printed Minutes of the former African

Committee on Education as loose papers. They have, I

Unite

presume, been collected in a C.O. Confidential Work book; ?

I should be much obliged if I could have a copy.

Yours sincerely,
